Skylar Turner, the nine year old son of Will and Elizabeth Turner, wondered around the port of Singapore, utterly clueless. The boy had been raised for all nine years of his life so far by his mother. Every now and then Captain Jack Sparrow came by to visit the lad and his mother in Port Royal. Jack had become like the father Skylar never had. Skylar looked up to Jack all the time. Skylar had stowed away on board Jack's ship before Jack had left Port Royal a month ago. When they had arrived in Singapore, the pirates left the ship and began to explore. Skylar also went to explore, but now he found himself completely lost. He then bumped into something. He looked up to see he had bumped in a rather plump man with a scruffy beard. "Sorry, Sir," Skylar said. The man glared at him and pulled out his sword. "Do you know what we do to little boys who run into people? We kill them!" the fat man said. Sky pulled out his own sword, except that wouldn't do him any good since it was made of wood. The man swung at the boy with the sword and Sky made a run for it, the fat man chasing him. "Help me!" Sky shouted to anyone he saw while he ran.

A man stood talking to a 'wench'. His hat flopped on his head, revealing a red bandana beneath it and long dark dreadlocked hair. With each movement he maid, various rings, beads and trinkets jangled. His arm crapt along the woman's shoulders, a smirk on his face as he attempted that Jack Sparrow charm of his. A voice from behind him drew his attention, a familiar voice. Captain Jack Sparrow turned and lifted his hat just above his eyes so he could see a boy running away, his appearance matching the voice he had heard. Turner's son. Jack's eyes rolled as his hand rested on his sword handle, watching. Jack turned back to the wench, smiled and held a finger up to her. "One moment, just...stay right 'ere, I'll be right back." And with that, he spun on his heel and made his way over towards the man.

Sky ran towards Jack. However Sky did not see Jack making his way over to him in the blur of people he saw as he ran. He continued to call for help.
"Somebody help me, please!" he begged.
"I'm going to kill you!" the fat man yelled at Sky.
"I don't want to die!" Sky cried as he continued to run for his life.

"Oi!" He yelled at the boy about to run straight by him and flung his arm out to the side. He grabbed onto his shoulder, stopping him from running further and nearly knocking him off his feet. He then drew his sword and waited for the fat man to come, saying nothing to the boy as he glanced down at him, almost rolling his eyes at the fact that the boy did not do as he was told, but also shocked that he had made it this far, unnoticed.

Sky nearly fell and then hid behind Jack.
"Don't kill me, Sir!" Sky begged.
The fat man approached Jack, not seeing Sky who was hidden behind him.
"You're in my way!" the fat man hissed.

"Sorry, am I?" He stepped slightly to the side, pushing Sky with him so the fat man would not see him. "By all means." He forced a smile to slick over his lips as he gestured for him to carry on. His eyes were narrowed, fixated on the other mans eyes to see if they had spotted Sky. His hand remained resting on his sword, gripping it tighter.

Not spotting Sky, the man went right past him. Sky held his breath as if afraid the man would hear him. Soon the man was gone.

Once the man was out of sight, the Captain turned and peered down at Skylar, his eyebrows raised. "So? What you doing 'ere mate?" He asked, still keeping an eye out for the man.

"Thank you for helping me, Sir," Sky said, remembering his manners. However, he did not recognized that Jack was the person in front of him. "Now if you would be so kind as to excuse me, my mother told me to never talk to strangers." Sky tried to walk away, but found himself trapped between Jack and a crowd of people.

"Just like your mother." Jack said aloud, refering to the way he spoke and his mannerisms. His lips curved as he watched the boy infront of him, waiting for him to recognise him.

Sky studied him for a long moment. His eyes were fixed in deep concentration before it finally sank in. He knew this man all to well. He smiled but then frowned. For if this person was who he thought it was it meant he could be in big trouble.
"U-Uncle Jack?" he asked timidly, his eyes looking all over and not directly at Jack.

He leant back slightly. "That's right mate. What you doin' 'ere?" He got straight to the point as his eyes wandered over to the woman he was talking to a minute ago, a look of frustration on her face. He then peered back to Sky, waiting for an answer.

"Mother doesn't love me," Sky said, which of course was an absolute lie because his mother loved him dearly. "She punished me and made me stay in my room all day for going out of the house without her permission. All I did was play with my mates. And she won't even let me have a real sword or anything. She yelled at me too. So I escaped and went on board your ship to get away from mother telling me what to do and punishing me. I think what I did is called stowing away."

"And she doesn't know you're 'ere now?" He raised an eyebrow, knowing that he would most likely get the blame for this one way or another. He peered around wondering what he could possibly do with the boy now. He'd come too far to go back and if he did take Sky back to his parents (which, evidently, he didn't want to do) it would all be his fault that he stowed away in the first place. He pondered on that thought for a moment, contemplating what to do.

"Well, no," Sky answered, looking down at the ground. "See, I made sure that she was sleeping before I left. She probably hasn't noticed that I'm gone with all those stupid girly tea parties she has. She makes me go to them sometimes. I don't even like tea!" He looked back up at Jack. "And all anyone talks about at those parties is the weather or girly things like dresses or ribbons. And everyone always tell me what an adorable gentleman I am! I don't want to be a gentleman! Those wigs are hot and itchy and I want to be a pirate. like you Uncle Jack! Mother keeps telling me I'm just like my father, but I don't know! My father's a pirate too! How come he never visits me like you, Uncle Jack?" The poor boy was close to tears by now after shouting out all the anger he held boiled up inside him out. "It's not fair! No one loves me! Not my mother! And father doesn't either! If he did, he would at least visit me!" It was obvious the boy knew nothing about the dreadful curse that his father was under.
