"Sure..." she said, highly doubting him. "And just to let you know, you smell better as a pirate."

He narrowed his eyes at her before lifting an arm and pressing it against his nose to see how he smelt. A familiar scent of alcohol drifted towards him. To him, anyone would smell better doused in rum. He shrugged it off and tried to remember what he was talking about.

"And you look better with dread locks too. You may be my father, but I can see qualities in you the women would be attracted to," she commented, without thinking. "I remember when I was four years old, mother shaved all the hair of your head."

Jack stared at her wide-eyed as though he didn't like that last thought. He stayed like that for a moment, not saying anything. "So as long as I don't kiss 'er......that'll never 'appen? And I'll still be the rum-soaked scallywag I've always been in 10 years time?" He didn't mind calling himself a rum soaked scallywag since....well that's kinda what he is. He prefered that future so much better than what his alternative choice sounded like.

"I'm guessing so. I'm not exactly sure what will happen," she admited. "But I haven't changed my past so no matter what, I'll still be born, I think. I'm thinking we should probably go to Tia Dalma's place. She can predict the future better than the two of us can."

He paused for a moment not saying anything before reaching into his pocket and taking out his compass. Jack flicked open the lid and watched the needle spin violently. It stopped abrutly and he followed it with his gaze towards the sea. "Tia Dalma's it is then." He quickly clamped it shut and rushed up the few steps to the wheel. He spun it 180 degrees to the left as the ship began to turn.

"Can that compass point you to the truth?" Robin asked him suddenly as he spun the wheel.

Jack turned to her looking her up and down wondering if she knew about the compass. "Depends what you mean by 'the truth...'" He trailed off pondering on what she meant.

"My past, whose child I really am, where I came from, that sort of thing," she said.

Jack kept hold of the wheel for a second until it felt stable, released it and took a few steps towards her. he lowered his voice. "Love, it's a compass..." He spoke somewhat sarcastically yet he knew she must have known it wasn't an ordinary compass. He revealed it from his pocket once again and pushed open the lid with his thumb. It opened and he held it up to her as if it show what a simple object it was and how it couldn't possible give her the answers she sought.

"I know but it is worthless to me then for not all of my desires are in material form," she said. "Not to mention it practically never works for me." She took out the same compass Jack had on his person, except that this compass had been used a lot more. "Anything you desire, what a joke."

"Well mine works..." He peered down at his again, watching it spin and remembering that sometimes it did point to things he was sure he did not 'desire'.... His gaze flicked from his to hers. "Well maybe...you just don't know what you desire." He stated almost mystically as he took a few steps past her and back to the wheel.

"Possibly," she said. "But so far when I want to know where my true father is, it keeps pointing at the man in the big hat." She meant Barbossa.

He traced her gaze to Barbossa and turned back to her. "Y'never know....it could be." His gaze then kept flicking between the two to try and look for any sort of resemblance.

"Do you know if he ever gave birth to a child?" she asked hopefully.
